When DigiRek is used for digital communication, the document is stamped with the sender and recipient. This way, all parties can each receive a legally valid original. Both parties can go back to the originals and check the details they have agreed on. Both parties can also rely on the document as legal proof of what they have agreed on. Background and needs
Security expert Peter Holm, CEO of BrandSign, and Per Furberg, an expert in the field of secure digital stamps, have previously stated that there is no sustainable method for future-proofing a unique document through signing. Existing solutions, such as BankID, are not permanent, and there is a lack of a system for long-term and secure identification of documents. The need to develop a sustainable and future-proof solution has therefore been evident.
Requirements specification and technical solution
Based on this, the requirements specification for BrandSign was defined: to develop a reliable system for digital stamping of documents and enable verifiable and revocable signing. The system would also include communication with digital mailboxes through the latest available technology.

BrandSign's solution is based on several patents, which have been granted in Europe and in several other countries around the world.
Function of the validation service
The validation service is based on standardized technology for cryptographic signatures and digital stamps. The stamp can be used to prove that the document has been preserved in an unchanged state since the time of stamping. The digital stamp thus prevents subsequent changes and counteracts the creation of manipulated or incorrectly dated documents.
Today, BrandSign meets the requirements for advanced electronic signatures and stamps, according to EU Regulation 2014/910 (EIDAS).
By establishing an agreement, BlueData AB now owns the right to market and use the patents and certificates that BrandSign has developed.
